Phyllis Gutmann
Born and bred in the NY metropolitan area, I studied English at Hunter College (B.A.) and at CCNY (M.A.). My undergraduate love of metaphorical language morphed into a passion for art.
My art studies continued at local Long Island colleges, workshops at home and abroad, private mentors and in the museum rich environment of New York City. Many of the resulting art works, which have been described as unique and eclectic, have been exhibited in Long Island, New York City, Westchester and Rockland counties.To this day my explorations of art and its challenging process continue with the talented members of Art Matters NY.
Parallel to art life my family has provided me great good fortune. The love and devotion of my late husband, my children and grandchildren have made my work possible.
